Did you know that cherries contain melatonin (milk does, too)? This semisweet recipe is geared toward helping you sleep.
INGREDIENTS:
1/4 c honey
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 TBSP canola oil
1 tsp orange zest
1/2 tsp apple pie spice
1/8 tsp salt
11/2 c puffed rice cereal
1 c regular rolled oats
1/2 c chopped pecans
1/4 c shredded coconut
1/2 c dried cherries
TO MAKE:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 15x10x1 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
In a large bowl stir together the first six ingredients (through salt). Add cereal, oats, pecans, and coconut; stir to coat well. Spread cereal mixture in prepared pan.
Bake about 15 minutes or until golden; stirring after 10 minutes. Remove from pan, stir in cherries. Let cool on a wire rack. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
